Google Analytics. What is it?
Nowadays a lot of people have own website. Every site owner wants to know, how many visitors visit his resource. We have solution how to monitor our website attendance. Google created web service Google Analytics in order to give visitors opportunity to see how many visitors visit the website, how long they stay on the specific page, where are they from and etc.
Personally, I use this service from Google for my websites too. It gives me full information about my resources. Reports can be produced on a regular basis: daily, weekly, monthly or by choosing other periods.
Generally, Google Analytics it's a free web service by Google which gives to site owners full statistics about their resources.
How to create new account in Google Analytics?
It is not difficult to create new account. Just follow a few simple steps. In this post I will talk about making an installation of Google Analytics code on your site.
Step 1.
In order to create account in Google Analytics, at first you have to create account in Gmail.com.
You can create Gmail account in a few minutes following this link gmail.com.
When you finish, we can begin to register new Google Analytics account.
Follow this link www.google.com/analytics/ and click on 'Create an account'
Then login with your Gmail account
You can also choose the category of your site, like 'Computers and Electronics'. Then indicate your 'Reporting Time Zone'. On the data sharing options you can use default settings.
Then the modal window will be displayed with Google Analytics Terms of Service Agreement.
Done! Now you can take this HTML code and put it of every page you want to track.
How to use Google Analytics?
Demographics: you can monitor from what cities and countries, your visitors are coming to the site. Demographics section also includes such data like visitor browser, operating system, service provider and other. Graphic diagram allows us to visually keep track of how many people visited your site from different countries. Statistics are also available as a percentage.

After that click on 'Sign Up'
You will see a form that you must complete. After the completion, click on 'Get Tracking ID'
You need to choose 'Website' / 'Mobile app'. It depends where are you going to put Google Analytics code.
In our case we are talking about websites, so therefore we choose 'Website'.
Thinks of the 'Account Name'. It can be the name of the site or something related with it. It's up to you.
To the 'Website Name' put your website name, like YOURSITE.COM.
Website URL should be like HTTP://YOURSITE.COM or HTTPS://YOURSITE.COM
It fully depends on the protocol which your site is using. Mostly it's HTTP.You can also choose the category of your site, like 'Computers and Electronics'. Then indicate your 'Reporting Time Zone'. On the data sharing options you can use default settings.
Then the modal window will be displayed with Google Analytics Terms of Service Agreement.
Click on 'I accept'. Got it!
Admin area page will be opened where you can find your Tracking ID and your Tracking Code. For security purposes, I hide my code :)
How to use Google Analytics?
In order to see the statistics, just login to Google Analytics and a lot of features will be available to monitor your traffic on site.
Below I provide the basic features that will be available to you.
Geo: geo section give us possibility to track such data like language installed in visitor's browser, amount of sessions, amount of new sessions as a percentage, bounce rate (percentage of users who left the front page after entering the site), average session duration and other.
Demographics and geo are the most important features there in my opinion, therefore I drew attention to them. Beside these features you can find there a lot of useful for tracking your site traffic.
